💬 Why this story?

This story invites students to go hunting for the Groumf, a monster they will invent. It involves moving as a group through a series of challenging natural spaces (a river, a dark damp forest…). At each step, the group imagines obstacles using their senses and discovers the appropriate gestures to navigate (e.g., tiptoeing).

Designed for primary school students, this exercise combines movement, group interaction, and oral expression to develop fundamental skills: memory, spatial visualization, and public speaking.

🧩 Sequence Plan

Each session begins with the collective creation of an imaginary monster, the Groumf.

  • Session 1: Students discover the story and develop their first mental images through listening and discussion.
  • Session 2: They physically explore the story path via a guided sensory journey, step by step.
  • Session 3: The story becomes interactive: students collectively enrich the exploration and influence the narrative with their ideas and movements.

Throughout the sessions, emphasis is placed on imagination, body engagement, and sharing representations to enhance the sensory and narrative experience.
